Gulai Lemak Siput Sedut consists of a kind of fresh water snail found abundantly in the rivers, and cooked with yam, lemon grass, turmeric leaf, garcinia cambogia, thick and thin coconut milk, and an adequate amount of salt and sugar.
The method of cooking is the same as other dishes of the same kind, the difference being in the main ingredient that is the fresh water snail. Before the snail is cooked a little bit of its end tip has to be cut off to remove any dirt. This open end also functions as the sucking point to suck out the flesh.
