Ulat Mulong or Ulat Sagu (Palm Larva) is a kind of larva that thrives inside the palm tree trunk and makes the palm shoot as its food. The fallen palm tree trunk is kept for about two weeks to let the larvae grow, be in good health and active. When the time is appropriate the palm tree trunk is cut open to remove the larvae. This larva can be eaten raw or grilled or fried.
